Leon Shirman is the Managing Partner of Etalon Fund. Mr. Shirman, born in 1963, earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1990. Mr. Shirman has been investing using strategies similar to the ones described above for the last fifteen years. His portfolio has consistently beaten major market indices.

Mr. Shirman is also a major shareholder in the Fund. This, together with the fee structure that entitles management to compensation only if certain performance goals are met, creates a very strong incentive to deliver high returns to Fund investors.

Over the years, Mr. Shirman formulated his long-term investment philosophy that is summarized in his book, "42 Rules for Sensible Investing", also available on Amazon.  This book provides concise, practical, and sensible down-to-earth discussion on various investing strategies.
